A2 Open Studio is an architectural practice working between Madrid and Porto. We make buildings, interiors, gardens and books — usually in that order, sometimes in another.

The studio was founded in 2019 around a quiet conviction: that good architecture leaves room for the people who will live in it. Our plans are loose where they can be, precise where they must be, and never decorative.

We work with a small group of long-term collaborators — engineers, gardeners, builders, writers — and at any one time we are doing fewer projects than people expect.
