Coastal Walk
A concrete ribbon set into the dunes. It widens at three places into rooms without walls — for sitting, for waiting, for nothing.
Image plate
A 2.4-kilometre walking path along a fragile stretch of coast. The path is a single cast-in-place concrete ribbon, 1.6 metres wide, held just above the sand on small precast pads.
At three points the ribbon widens into open rooms — small platforms with no programme. They have been used, so far, for fishing, for marriage proposals, and for nothing.
